Matthew Turetsky

Matthew Turetsky is a PhD student in History at Carnegie Mellon University studying Latin American and environmental history. His research interests include crop diversity, transnational seed conservation, and Indigenous food sovereignty. His current project investigates efforts to promote quinoa consumption and the challenges faced by scientists and farmers in twentieth-century Peru. He participated in the Plant Humanities Summer Program at Dumbarton Oaks in 2023.
