Alex Langstaff

Alex Langstaff is interested in how metaphors influence the important decisions we take in political life. As a history PhD candidate and lecturer, he works at the intersection of histories of science, culture and ideas. He is currently researching the interdisciplinary origins of Cold War “containment” in Eastern Europe. As a writer, he connects historical questions to contemporary issues and new books for broader audiences at places like Artforum and the LA Review of Books.
