Adam M. Sowards is an environmental historian, writer, and professor at the University of Idaho. He is the author or editor of several books, including The Environmental Justice: William O. Douglas and American Conservation and Idaho’s Place: A New History of the Gem State. He also writes a regular column, “Reckoning with History,” at High Country News.
