Whitney Robles
Whitney Barlow Robles, Ph.D., is a Raleigh-based historian, author, and curator specializing in the history of natural history, focusing on how animals have shaped scientific narratives. Her book Curious Species: How Animals Made Natural History (2023) explores the role of animals in the development of natural history and its environmental impacts. She was a members of Dartmouth’s Society of Fellows, where she remains a Visiting Scholar, and has written for various publications, including Slate and Natural History.
