Olivia Heffernan

Olivia is a journalist and documentary filmmaker. Her work focuses on labor organizing, immigration policy, and prison abolition. She is a graduate of Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and currently enrolled at CUNY’s School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU). Olivia is a producer at Human Pictures, a 2021 Sundance Institute Documentary Filmmaker Grant recipient, and is currently directing a documentary about Mexico’s first mobile cinema, Cine Hidalgo.
