Nissa Parmar teaches at St. Olaf College. Her teaching and research frequently focus on how literary forms, from the novel to oral tales, inform cultural and social construction. She is especially interested in poetry, and examines its cultural power further in Multicultural Poetics: Re-visioning the American Canon (SUNY Press).
