Julia Skinner, PhD is the founder of Root, a food history and fermentation organization, and holds a PhD in Library & Information Science from Florida State. She is passionate about research and writing, as well as teaching and art. She lives on a wildlife preserve in Atlanta with her partner and a small menagerie of animals.
